Niels Jørgen Haugesen was born in 1936 in Vivild, Denmark. He trained as a cabinetmaker and later had been employed by professor, architect Arne Jacobsen in Copenhagen. In 1971 he established his own design studio in Copenhagen and works also as a teacher at Denmark's Design school in Copenhagen. n his designs, Niels Joergen has the ability of combining the past with the present, making his designs uniquely distinct. The constructive ideas that he incorporates in his designs always give them that kind of serene form in addition to function. While starting out on his design works, Niels more often than not adapts his constructive starting position to the aesthetic and functional aspects.
